The latest update of the Gmail App allows its users to make phone calls and video calls directly.
Some time ago, Google changed G-Suite to Google Workspace. So that Gmail has a direct phone and video call feature from within the Gmail application.

No Need to Download the Google Meet Application

In fact, your smartphone will ring when there is an incoming phone call. There are two options here, transfer the phone call to the computer, or answer directly via smartphone.
However, you can get this feature after joining other users in Spaces, or after exchanging emails with other users.
While in Space, you can use various other Google products. Such as, Task, Meet, Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Calendar.
There are Four Tabs in the Gmail Application
Currently, this feature when it first appeared was only for enterprise accounts. However, Google has ensured that in the near future all users will be able to enjoy this feature.
Well, instead of waiting for this feature, Google created a new design for the Gmail application. This latest appearance presents four tabs, namely Meet, Spaces, Chat, and Mail.
